The beginning of a new adventure

Early this morning, I was thinking (gosh, Lloyd hates it when I start a sentence with those three words!). Anyway, I was taking some pictures around the house and pondered how to get these to the people in my family. Then I thought, since I am already keeping a hand written journal, something I started doing in the fall, perhaps I should try my hand at writing a blog. It will be an easy way for me to keep a record of daily activities as well as share pictures with family and friends back in Ontario.
So, perhaps a little bit of history to start with.
March 2009 we came down to PEI to look at a house. Long story short, 6 weeks later we arrived with all of our worldly belongings in a Uhaul truck and pulled into the driveway of our new-to-us 100 year old piece of PEI history. But more on that later.
It is now February 2010, soon to be one year since that fateful decision was made, and what a year it has been. This picture is the first view we had of it last March. There was still quite a bit of snow and ice around so you could only guess at how it would blossom into so much more come spring. Now we are once again covered in snow and awaiting the spring. But I'm not complaining, it's been a very mild winter so far and we've just gotten our first storm, resulting in a snow day last Friday. Now I don't know about you, but Friday seems just too perfect a day to have for a snow day. Mother nature obviously is watching out for us. But I'm rambling.
So, I will post notes, photos and observations here for anyone who might be interested in hearing about what is going on in my new life here on the island. Over the next couple of postings, I will catch up with what has been happening to this point, and then will continue from there. If you happen to be reading this then you must know me fairly well, so please feel free to get in touch if something peaks your interest.
That's it for now, catch you again tomorrow.
