It's a chilly 13' this morning and it's only going to go up to 18' later but may feel more like 21'. We should also see some rain this afternoon as well. Not to worry, it's a work day although not so good for various friends visiting the island from Ontario. It can't be anything like Friday was - huge amounts of rain fell during the day but at least the wind wasn't too bad. I hear other parts of the Maritimes were much worse off than we were. Really not much happened here other than everyone and everything getting really wet!
First thing this morning I need to wish my good friend, and partner in crime, Brenda, a very Happy Birthday!
Hope you have a really great day. We actually started her celebrations last night with some wine, some snacks and a movie. One of the books that we've both read was recently made into a movie so it worked out really well that it was on TV last night.
Our new friends Patti and Brian were meant to come for supper but instead it was changed to earlier in the day. Funny sometimes how things just seem to work out. My plan was to tape the movie and watch it one night during the week so it worked out well. I had made some snacks for their visit and there was left overs so, as Bernie would say, it was all good.
Lloyd was planning to fly to Toronto either last night or early this morning but those plans got changed in the past few days. He decided instead to drive so he has the car there, and he has a few things he needs to bring back with him. Next Saturday is a fly in at the Guelph Airport and he plans to have his airplane on display there. Patti and the family will be going as well so it should be a good time. Then he'll leave on Sunday morning to come back. He starts his first shift at his new job on Monday night so it might be a bit of a challenge but if he makes good time on Sunday, he'll have a shorter drive on Monday - hopefully, so he can get some sleep before he heads off to work at midnight. It will take a bit of adjusting on our parts to work around his new schedule but I'm sure we'll figure it all out over time.
We had a lovely visit with Patti and Brian and their friend Kyle. They were here till around 3:30, then Lloyd had a wee nap before heading out on the road around 5:30. He figured if he got a good 4 or 5 hours into the trip before stopping for the night he'd make some headway on the trip today. I know he'll be excited to take this trip because he now has all that he needs to fly his plane for the first time. It's been a lot of years to come to this point, it's too bad I won't be there to see it. I should have told him to take the video camera and have someone tape it for me. Never thought about that.
Okay, time to go - the dog's telling me it's time for breakfast and for me to go and get ready for work.
One last little note: I've been noticing that I have a regular visitor coming in from Moscow, so good morning to you, who ever you are and greetings from Canada!
Congrats Lloyd on getting everything ready for your plane - hope it goes well this week!
