It's a chilly 4' that's only feeling like 0' and that's pretty much where we're going to stay for the rest of the day. But at least it will be dry, unlike yesterday that ended with lots of rain and strong winds. It's much quieter and dryer out there this morning but much cooler than the 15' we enjoyed yesterday. It is November, after all.
And we don't want it too warm this afternoon, we want it to feel a little like winter to get us into that seasonal mood. Brenda and I are attending the first of many Christmas Craft Shows that are held here on the island each year. After a bite to eat when I'm done work, we're heading over the the show at the Confederation Centre. It's always a really good display. She's off today so is enjoying an especially long weekend. She's heading off to Halifax tomorrow to visit Meghan, who's going to be there for the weekend. Looks like our weather should cooperate for a bit of a road trip.
I'm happy to be staying home and maybe I can be of some help out in the garage. Just about all the insulation is in place and yesterday Lloyd spent the day cleaning up - again. Now he's almost ready to begin putting in the wall panels. With any luck, we should be able to make a bit of progress on the weekend. Not sure how much help I'll actually be but we'll see.
The Dennison family has been quite busy this week. Tristen is in cubs and had his installation ceremony. He
looks very pleased and proud of himself. He's always looked up to his big brother and wants so much to be like him. But as he gets older, he's really turning into his own person. He tried hockey, and baseball, like his brother but they really aren't his thing, not like they were for James. But he truly loves his Karate and is pursuing that and now he's in cubs. I'm glad to see that he's finding his own path and doing the things that are right for him, not because they're something his big brother is doing. He's definitely his own little person and he'll do well. That's a good thing because I suspect that James' footsteps could be tough ones to follow in.
Speaking of James, he's also had a busy week at Cadets. He's been promoted to Corporal. I'm not up on the rankings but I assume this is an early step up the ladder. He looks so grown up in his uniform and he's really taking his cadets seriously.
He'll be marching in the Remembrance Day ceremonies in Guelph on Monday. Looks like the boys have been very busy practicing and are well prepared.
This weekend both Meghan and Tristen will be skating at a meet in Brampton. James isn't involved with this one. Looks like another busy weekend for Patti.
Keep me posted guys, and send pictures!
And finally, a friend sent me this photo of a sign in Toronto - obviously no further comment needed:
