Wednesday, October 3rd - 3 classes down, 7 more to go

It's a very pleasant 12' this morning with a bright moon and lots of stars. We're heading for another beautiful day with sunshine and 17' expected later.

Lloyd had the day off yesterday and was able to complete his first truss for the roof of his building.  I'm told once the first one is done, the rest follow much easier. He had it standing when I got home so I could see roughly how wide my space is going to be.  Just picture this with side walls, a ceiling and 8 feet off the ground and you've got the general idea of what my new 'craft studio' will look like.

It looked much smaller when it was lying on the ground. Now all he has to do is build 27 more just like this one!

We had a great class last night. We were missing two students but fortunately Meghan and Caitlin were able to join us and filled those spots quite nicely. Our theme was "What is that and what do I do with it?"  We had a variety of things to work with and sample - dragon fruit, eggplant, fennel, plantains, celery root, bok choy.

We made a wide variety of recipes and then set them all out and sampled them together. Everyone had their favorites but most were a hit.

Everyone really enjoyed the Baba Ganouche, the Eggplant Caviar and the Fennel and Orange Salad.
