Wednesday, May 14th - warmer temperatures are on the way!

It's a chilly 3' this morning, feeling a little more like -1' but, and there is some frost on my car windows this morning, but we should warm up nicely to a sunny 12 to 14' later. Unlike our friends and family in the Guelph area who were experiencing 28' yesterday with a humidex reading of 35'. Now that's TOO warm. We'd like just a little of that, please and thank you. We're hoping for a warmer long weekend and that will make for some great weather for doing some yard work. We've cut down a couple of trees and there are a couple more that are slated to go so it could be a busy weekend.

Lloyd's second batch of chicken eggs is in the incubator and if all goes well, are slated to hatch sometime soon. I did the candle trick to look inside and there is definitely more development than the last time. I really hope this batch is successful. He'll be quite disappointed if it's not. Of course then it also adds to his daily chores but that's not a bad thing.

It's going to be a busy few weeks coming up. Lloyd's seed starting project is going very well. (that's the photos) There's a couple of seeds that didn't do much but most are doing great. The garden is needed to be tilled and planted, and the grass will soon need cutting for the first time. Firewood for the winter has yet to be secured and the list goes on and on. But it's that activity that will keep us young.

It's definitely a busier lifestyle than when we lived in an apartment building in Ontario.  After this past winter it's going to be great to get outside and do things again. We just need it to warm up a little bit more. Hopefully this weekend will be the turning point!

Our dance class has been moved to an earlier time so we're finished by 7:15. That means it's still daylight when we leave our chosen eating establishment. Last night it was the Gahan. They have this potato nacho sort of dish that is really great if the potatoes are cooked really crispy. We specified that when we ordered and they did not disappoint. Crispy potato slices with melted cheese, onions, bacon and a spicy sauce and sour cream for dipping - YUMMM.
