Someone tell mother nature that the first day of winter should be here soon!

Conditions at 5:30 am - 5* with rain and wind
Expected later - more rain, high winds and 11*

This weather is crazy. We had a bit of snow on the ground last night but this morning it's totally gone. Yesterday afternoon was absolutely gorgeous. It had to be at least 5* and the sun was shining and there was absolutely no wind anywhere. I took the dog for a walk to get some evergreen branches and it was a beautiful day. It's going to be the same tomorrow and only going down to 10* overnight. Crazy!

Congratulations to James on another fine performance at speedskating. He came home with a bronze medal. He was quite excited to learn that there were a bunch of older skaters participating from PEI. He's compiling quite the collection of medals this year. Well done, James!
Lloyd dog sat for them while they were away. I think he quite enjoyed doing that. He took Meadow with him to the airport and he says the dogs feet never touched the ground, as everyone had to take turns holding here. She was a big hit.

Well, we didn't do so well at curling on Friday night. We got severely beaten. But the upside I suppose is the winners buy the beer and we had time to stay and drink it as we curled at 8:00 instead of 9:30.  But we had fun and no one fell and got injured so that's all that matters.

Sunday morning Brenda called and suggested we go out for breakfast so we headed over to Mount Stewart and had breakfast at Kristie's.  The front part of the restaurant was very busy so we went into the back where we met Marlene and Raymond and some of their family so we joined them as they hadn't eaten yet. I spent the day getting ready for Tuesday and at supper time I went over to Brenda's and we tried a recipe she's found for a stir fry using chicken with a teriyaki sauce and udon noodles. It was really quite good, I'd definitely make it again.

We're all set for our cookie exchange on Tuesday night. Unfortunately a couple of people can't make it so there will only be five of us, but that's fine. I think we'll have a wonderful evening just the same.

Patti sent me this picture of a gingerbread house that Greg made with the kids. I have to say, I'm really impressed. Nicely done Greg!
