Okay, so I slept in this morning and this is a few hours later than usual. Hopefully the hand full of readers who visit regularly are late risers this morning as well.
It's now 8:15 am and I'm sitting at work in the bright sunshine, which thankfully, will be soon be above the front window so I'll be able to see my screen a little more clearly. It's a cooler 8' this morning only heading for 14' later but sunny, so it will be a good day for Lloyd to work on the trusses for his roof. The materials should be delivered sometime this morning. He has a small crew lined up for tomorrow morning to try to put the walls up but it's looking like it might rain. Let's hope it holds off for at least part of the day.
We had the great pleasure of being the guests at the Van Gaals for supper last night. Meghan wanted to try out a pasta recipe and we were more than willing to be guinea pigs! It was worth the trip because it was delicious - something I would certainly make again. Of course the homemade rolls certainly helped to make it even more delicious. Brenda made apple pies and Lloyd made an orange cake and brought birthday candles. Needless to say, we were well fed.
It sounds like they had a very interesting, enjoyable and tiring trip but did get to experience a typically Dutch meal - several times! I also received a lovely hand painted bell from Delft to add to my collection of bells, so many thanks for that. I'm looking forward to having an opportunity to sit down and look at all the photos they took. That's the nice thing about digital photography - you can take as may pictures as you like and then sort through them at your leisure. I still remember the days when you almost needed a bank loan to get your holiday photos back from the camera store if you were a little over zealous with the shutter, only to find that many were out of focus, or had some other peculiarity that made them totally useless. How times have changed.
