What a knight!

Conditions at 6:15 am: 19' and clear
Expected later: a humid 25' that will feel more like 31' - how crazy is this weather? But we love it!

Elton John in Summerside last night!
Last night was the first of two sold out concerts at Credit Union Place in Summerside and Sir Elton didn't disappoint. The concert featured just him, playing solo on the piano, starting at 8:00 and not ending until 10:47. It was just one hit after another but then the man has such a vast catalogue to draw from. I've not seen him perform live before and I was totally blown away by his skills on the piano. It was such a treat.
I remarked to Lloyd when it started how fortunate we are to be able to see our favorites from our teen years still performing and releasing new materials after all these years. In one small way, we never have to grow up. As we drove into town yesterday every where there were signs posted on businesses saying "Welcome Elton John and Live Nation". I'm sure that's not something they would see in most cities they travel to.
Towards the end of the show fans started surging towards the stage and there was a large group packed right up to the front of the stage. When he finished one of the songs, he went over and started at one end and worked his way across the whole front of the stage signing autographs on everything imaginable. I was amazed because you would never see anything like that in a bigger centre.
All in all, it was a great show but it was quite late when we got home so I've gotten up an hour later this morning. But I wanted to get this posted before I get ready for work.
