The weather people lied to us - again!

It's two degrees as I write this, slightly showery, but no snow. Thank goodness for that. I'm hoping that by the time I get back it will be warmer.

Yesterday I received a comment from Meghan(1) and she's getting into gardening. How great is that. I plan to plant a small garden this summer and probably a few flowers as well and I'm the first one to admit I don't know much about it. Yesterday morning I picked up a magazine at the Superstore that you will have to get, Meghan. It's a Canadian Living special issue. Unlike most special issues that run $10.00 or more, this one is only $5.95 and it's called "Grow it, Eat it"
It has gardening tips that are great for newbie gardeners, and lots of recipes for using the plants you grow. There's some really yummy looking recipes in there and I think you'll love it. I thought of you right away when I read your comment.

Your mom's comment is so on the money - just imagine how much trouble we could get into if you lived here! We'll just have to get together once in a while when you're visiting the island.

Yesterday one of the girls at work invited me to join her and two of her friends for supper at Boston Pizza. It was really nice to be included. When she invited me she suggested I might like to join them if I'm going to be bored last night. That got me to thinking. I can honestly say that I have never been bored the entire time I've been here. I guess I'm just good at keeping myself busy. When I got home I finished up my laundry then found an Anne Murray special on TV. I think it's been on before but I've not seen it. It was a little ironic to find it on TV as I was finishing packing earlier in the evening and looking for a book to take with me on the plane. Lloyd gave me a book at Christmas written by Anne Murray, a bit of an autobiography. I was flipping through it and looking at the pictures before I put it into my suitcase. There were photos of all the women she had sang duets with on one of her albums and it turns out that's what the program was about. Now it will be really nice to read the book with the image of them singing together on TV.

I used to listen to her music a lot and I love some of her songs from about 20 years ago. I'd forgotten how much I liked some of them so after the show I copied some of them off CD's onto my mp3 player. I'm going to take it with me for listening to while I'm killing time in airports on my way to Toronto.

I'm always amazed at how music can conjure up memories of things long ago and since forgotten. I was listening the the Anne Murray song "Can I have this dance for the rest of my life" and I think Lloyd and I danced to that one the night we met at the Nottawasaga Inn. Who knew it would come true!

Today should be a fairly good day. Tracey is away, so I can finish up a few things that are on my desk before I leave. I could have gotten them done yesterday but there's a couple of things that I need input from other people. So I spent a lot of time yesterday waiting for people to get to me with information I need. Hopefully I'll get all that early today and I can leave a clean desk! But I can only imagine what it's going to look like when I get back.

  1. You sound like you are getting primed up for a romantic week with Lloyd. The yard sale is May 22 at the Rec Center sponsored by the Home and School to raise money for playground . Amanda the other cake maker is on the committee.
